Turquoise lagoons of the Exumas from above

FOR AVIATION ENTHUSIASTS

Join the Journey

Experience flying in a small aircraft — with no pilot's license required. Alongside an experienced pilot, you join hand-picked routes from the front row of the cockpit.

Whether a scenic alpine flight, the North Sea islands, or island hopping in the Bahamas — you'll enjoy the cockpit experience up close, without having to fly yourself. The pilot takes the controls, you take in the view of the world from above.

Joining a flight means sitting up front without the responsibility

You need no licence and no prior knowledge. A professional pilot flies and you sit beside him, in the same cockpit and with the same view. Ask as much as you like, or say nothing and simply look.

The difference from a scheduled flight is the altitude. A small aircraft flies low enough that you still see landscape as landscape: the edges of the dunes at Sossusvlei, the changing colour of the water over the Cyclades, the tidal channels of the Wadden Sea off Sylt. And it lands at fields no airliner serves.

What that costs in comfort we say in advance rather than at the airfield: luggage is limited, usually to one soft bag per person, and the weather has a say in the schedule. In return, the transfer between two stops becomes the best part of the day.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A professional at the controls

An experienced pilot flies. You sit beside him, with the same view and none of the responsibility.

No licence required

No licence, no prior knowledge, no preparation. Only the pleasure of flying.

View rather than altitude

Small aircraft fly low enough that landscape stays landscape instead of turning into a map.

Small airfields

Fields no airliner serves, and journeys that stay short once you have landed.

Clear limits

Luggage is limited, usually to one soft bag per person, and the weather has a say in the schedule. We tell you both in advance.

The same houses

The type of trip does not lower the standard of the accommodation: the same hotels and lodges as on our other journeys.

HOW YOUR TRIP COMES TOGETHER

Into the cockpit without a licence

  1. 01

    Enquiry

A call or an email is enough. You need no licence, and there is no cart here: every trip is planned individually.

  2. 02

    Route and aircraft

Type and pilot follow the route and the size of your party. How many seats are taken also decides how much luggage and how long each leg can be.

  3. 03

    Offer

You receive a binding offer with every service listed, the German tour operator insolvency certificate, and the limits that apply to luggage and weather.

  4. 04

    In the air

You sit up front, next to a professional pilot. Questions are welcome; the controls stay with him.
